Box says 11 minutes at 20°C, 1+50, agitate the first minute then 10s every minute. After about 200 rolls I've drifted to 1+50, 13 minutes, three gentle inversions every 90 seconds, water bath at 22°C because my flat doesn't hold 20.
The negatives come out denser than the box recipe — exactly enough to print on grade-2 paper without dodging. Highlights bake in slowly, shadows hold detail you can recover even if the meter lied to you. Rodinal sharpness gives you film grain you can taste. It's not "right" — it's the look I want.
Don't trust the box. Don't trust me either. Develop a roll, print a contact sheet, write down what you did, repeat.
